JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Catalina In-Home Service employee, either as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA), each caregiver works with clients in their homes, in a hospital or in an assisted living facility. Employees develop a nurturing and rewarding relationship with each client while working with them one-on-one. The relationships benefit the employee, the client, and family members.

Prior to being assigned to a client, each employee receives detailed information about the client, is given a Care Plan, and will receive support and direction from the Catalina nurse and the Catalina team to assist him/her in working with the client. In addition to an employee’s utilizing professional skills, companion skills are helpful when taking a client for doctor’s appointments, assisting with shopping and running errands. Most clients need light housekeeping and laundry services, as well as meal planning and preparation. An employee’s training, experience, special touches and attention to detail will bring happiness to a client who feels safe and well-cared for.

WORK REQUIREMENTS

The following are requirements for becoming a Catalina employee:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Vehicle with current registration and proof of auto insurance
  • Proof of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification and First Aid 
  • Proof of Tuberculosis (TB) test
  • Proof of “Right to Work” in US – such as Birth Certificate or Social Security Card
  • Three (3) former employer references: names, addresses, phone numbers
  • Certified Nursing Associate (CNA) Certification or else records of professional training
  • Ability to easily lift 50 pounds
  • Clean character – a background check is performed on employment

HOW TO APPLY

  • You may complete an application in our office, Monday through Friday, between 9 AM and 3 PM. Catalina In-Home Services is located at 1602 E Ft Lowell Road on the southwest corner of Ft Lowell Road and Cherry Street, just west of North Campbell Avenue.
